Duplex studio with a bedroom on the second floor

The room in a large Arbat apartment by the efforts of designers turned into a chic modern two-level studio. The hostess, an architect by training, chose this housing for non-standard layout and very high ceilings, allowing to divide the room “vertically” and arrange bedroom on the second floor.

Once upon a time in an old apartment building it was a room with a stove, and the apartment in which it was located occupied the entire first floor. The main advantages of the room - high ceilings and huge windows - have been preserved and in option two-level studio.

The bathroom, located at the entrance, was removed, and in its place a wooden cube was built “with a secret”. It is exactly the same color as the floor covering the floor. A ladder is attached to it on the side, where you can climb up - and discover the real bedroom on the second floor!

But this is not all the secrets of the original piece of furniture. Inside the "cube" hiding wardrobe, as well as a toilet with a shower. This solution added a room of almost eight meters of living space.

In this small two-level studio A lot of places for storage of things fit - cabinets, open and closed shelves, mezzanines. All this is made according to sketches of the hostess herself.

In the non-standard kitchen, we managed to do without wall cabinets, hiding everything that was needed under the worktop. The dark decoration of the wall above it serves as a backdrop for cute decorative trifles, located on a long wooden shelf.

Accommodation bedrooms on the second floor allowed the main space of the room to use as a guest area.

The amount of furniture is minimal - a chair, a table and a sofa. All three items are designer ones, some had to be “modified” a little - for example, the legs of the chair needed to be “built up” so that its height corresponded to the table.

In the interior two-level studio wooden “cube” looks like a piece of furniture, and hides from the eyes of strangers intimate rooms of the apartment. Since the height of the “cube” could not be large, the ceilings in the bathroom, hidden inside it, turned out to be only 2.1 m. This does not interfere with the functionality, but determines the choice of lighting devices - they are LEDs that had to be placed in special niches.

Another “secret” is that the bowls of the toilet bowl and bidet are hidden under the bench from a waterproof tick, and a lattice under the legs is made of it in the shower.
