Interior design options for corner kitchens

If the size of the kitchen is small, angular, or L-shaped may become the optimal shape of the kitchen set. With this arrangement, the furniture manages to arrange it most rationally from the point of view of ergonomic space, and to get a sufficient number of places to store all the necessary.

The design of modern corner kitchens is diverse, and is able to satisfy the most sophisticated taste. Another significant advantage is that this option leaves the opposite corner of the room and a significant area around it completely free, which allows you to place a dining group or a sofa for relaxing there.

Corner kitchen options

L-shaped kitchen can be arranged in different ways in the room.

  • Along the walls

Cabinets kitchen set along two converging walls. The classic version from which this layout got its name. It is appropriate for both small kitchens and rooms of considerable size. The length of the “wings” may vary depending on the size and configuration of the room.

  • Peninsula

One of the variants of interior design of a corner kitchen is a kitchen with a peninsula. In a large kitchen of the correct form, the furniture is arranged in this way: one part of the headset is guided along the wall from the corner to the center, and the other is adjacent to it in the center of the room at a right angle, fencing off the free part of the kitchen from the cooking zone.

In this case, the kitchen suite simultaneously performs the role of a zoning partition. Such variants of corner kitchens at the same time allow you to maintain a high ergonomic working space, increase the working surface area, zone the room, and also can take on the role of a bar counter.

  • Bar counter

In the design of modern corner kitchens such a technique as an additional bar counter is often used. In this case, the headset has the shape of the letter P, and in some cases, the Latin letter F, it all depends on the place where the bar counter is attached to the main headset.

Usually this is done if the room is large, or it does not provide for the allocation of a dining area, and then the counter becomes a table for breakfast and snacks.

Kitchen corner

The outer corner of the kitchen repeats the angle under which the walls of the kitchen converge, where it is placed. But the inner can be both straight and sloping.

  • Bevel angle

This interior design corner kitchen has its advantages.

  • If the inner corner is made oblique, an ordinary door can be placed on the facade in this place, which will provide access to the inner volume. Otherwise, it would be necessary to use withdrawable or drawers, which complicates and increases the cost of construction.
  • A cabinet with a bevel, as a rule, has a significant amount, where you can hide a large number of necessary items.
  • Similar variants of corner kitchens are much more convenient to use, since the approach to the technology located in the corner, whether it be a sink or a stove, is much more accessible than in the “rectangular” version.

The only minus of the bevelled corner is the difficulties that arise when washing the apron behind the corner appliances, but this happens only if the interior design of the corner kitchen provides for a considerable width in this place. When choosing the option with a bevelled corner, keep this in mind that excessive depth of the corner module may make cleaning difficult.

  • Right angle

The design of modern corner kitchens suggests a direct inner corner of the furniture set in order to save space.

To equip such an angle so that it is convenient to use it is quite difficult: the facade of the angular module is made folding by connecting loops. At considerable depth, such modules are equipped with drawout or sliding modules, in order to facilitate access to the internal contents.

What to arrange in the corner of the kitchen?

  • Car wash

  • Stove, oven and extractor

Previously, in the corner module, as a rule, have a sink. But lately, the sink has been transferred to the window more often, and therefore in the design of modern corner kitchens, a stove and an oven get a place in the corner. Of course, this option is suitable only for spacious rooms, because the inner corner will have to be beveled.

  • Cooktop and hood

The most popular solution is to place it in the corner section of the hob and the hood above it, while the oven is transferred to the “straight” part of the headset.

  • Fridge

The original solution is to place a refrigerator in the corner. But this is also an option for a spacious room. In addition, part of the area behind the refrigerator at the same time “disappears”, it cannot be used.
